Growing Sunflower from Sunflower Seeds

Purchase Sunflower seeds from online or from your local nursery. Before you plant the sunflower seeds, allow the soil to warm at least to the soil temperature of 55 to 60 degrees F. Once the soil is warm plant the seed directly into the soil pushing them 1 inch deep. If you want to grow more than one plant then grow them in a row giving a space of 18 inches.

Sunflower grows bigger and healthier when given lot of spaces. Cover the seed with soil with a light application of an organic fertilizer to boost fast growth. How to Grow an Excellent Rose Plants?

The most successful way to grow rose plant is propagating from rose cuttings. Check for the healthy rose plant and Cut the rose stem below the node. Use a sharp nippers to cut the stem. Make sure you cut a medium sized stem at least 4 inches long not more than 12 inches. Keep two leaves on the top and remove all the leaves and side stems from the cuttings. Rose plant require slight acidic soil pH of around 6.5. Prepare your soil by adding plenty of organic material like compost, grass clippings and leaves from your yard and ensure that the soil have good drainage and moisture retention. Place the cutting at a diagonal slanting into the soil pushing them at least 2 inch deep. Before you plant them, water the soil thoroughly but do not make them sloggy. Rose plants prefer good moisture holding soil but well drained.

Water the cuttings everyday and diligently. Rose plant need a steady source of water during the growing season, about 1 inch a week. Water the plants near the roots not on the leaves. In few weeks there will be a root growth and you will see the set of true leaves growing out of the stem. Apply base nutrients to your plant as rose love to be fed while growing. Roses are hungry plant so fed them with liquid base nutrients while growing and blooming period.

To get a maximum blooms and to give a proper shape prune your rose plant in early spring. Remove all the dead, damaged and extra stems from your rose plant. Use sharp and clean knife to prune your plant. Once your plant start blooming enjoying keeping them on the plant or collect and keep for decoration.

Keep your rose fresh for two to three days. Cut the rose stem with a sharp clean scissors and submerge into luke warm water. Make sure to cut the end of the stem at a slight angle and keep them in vase. Change the water everyday. This way you can keep the rose fresh for a week. To preserve hang them upside down and spray them with hairspray this will keep them fresh.
